Space flights in first half of 2010
35 space flights were conducted in the world in first half of 2010. 17 flights were conducted by Russia: 6 flights of “Proton-M” and “Soyuz” LV each, 3 flights of “Dnepr” LV, 1 flight of “Rockot” LV, 1 flight of “Cosmos-3M”. 8 flights were conducted by USA: 3 flights of Space Shuttle, 2 flights of “Delta 4” and “Atlas 5” LV each, 1 flight of “Falcon 9” LV. 4 flights were conducted by China: it were LV of “Long March” family. 2 flights were conducted by ESA: it were “Ariane 5” LV. Japan (H-2A LV), India (GSLV LV), Israel (Shavit LV) and South Korea (KSLV-1 LV) have conducted one flight each, but India and South Korea had failures at these flights.
73 liquid rocket engines of NPO Energomash development were used at these flights: 36 engines (14D14M) for “Proton-M” LV, 30 engines (14D21, 14D22, 11D511, 11D512) for “Soyuz” LV, 3 engines (RD-274) for “Dnepr” LV, 1 engine (RD-216M) for “Cosmos-3M” LV, 2 engines (RD-180) for “Atlas 5” LV, 1 engine for KSLV-1. NPO Energomash remains leader in development and operation of powerfull liquid rocket engines for space launch-vehicles in the world.
