Valentin Petrovich Glushko (2.IX.1908 – 10.I.1989)
was born in Odessa. He graduated from the Leningrad
University (1925-1929). The doctor of engineering science (1957), academician (1958). In 1929 he became the chief of division on development of engines and rockets in a structure of Gasdynamic laboratory in Leningrad. In 1934 he has prolonged activities in a structure of RNII in Moscow. In 1938 he was groundlessly arrested and in 1939 was sentenced to 8 years’ imprisonment. He worked in 4-th Special Department of NKVD in Tushino, then in Kazan, where he has headed Design Bureau on LPRE. He was released ahead of schedule with removal of a previous conviction in 1944, having prolonged activities in OKB-SD (Kazan). In 1945-1946 he participated in learning german rocket engineering in Germany. Together with staff of OKB-SD since 1946 he has prolonged activities in Khimky, near Moscow, as chief designer of OKB-456, KB Energomash (now NPO Energomash named academician V.Glushko), since 1974 - director and general designer of NPO “Energia”, in a structure of which KB Energomash was included up to 1990. Since 1977 - general designer of NPO “Energia”. Founder of domestic rocket engine development, pioneer and creator of domestic space-rocket engineering. The designer of first in the world electro-thermal rocket engine (1928-1933), first Soviet liquid propellant rocket engines ORM (1930-1931), family of RLA rockets on liquid propellant (1932-1933), powerful liquid propellant rocket engines installed practically on all domestic launch-vehicles, flying till now into space. The engines of V.Glushko have put into orbit the first and subsequent artificial satellites of the Earth, spacecrafts with Yury Gagarin and other cosmonauts, and also have ensured flights to Moon and planets of Solar system.
The unique reusable space system “Energia - Buran”, base module of permanent orbital station “Mir” etc. were created under management of V.Glushko. Alongside with the world famous activity of V.Glushko in the field of a practical astronautics, as chief and general designer of rocket engines and rocket systems, he has introduced also vast personal contribution to global science: his long-term activities on creation of the fundamental reference books on thermal constants, thermodynamic and thermal properties of different matters (1956-1982; 40 books) highly rated in the world. V.Glushko has headed some decades Scientific advisory panel at Presidium of Academy of Science of USSR on a problem "Liquid propellant". V.Glushko was the full member of International Astronautical Federation, chairman and member of many scientific advisory panels, he was chief editor of three editions of "Cosmonautics" encyclopedia (1968, 1970, 1985). The crater on the visible side of Moon was named after V.Glushko in August, 1994 as pioneer and creator of domestic rocket engine development. Twice Hero of a Socialist Labour (1956, 1961), winner of Lenin’ (1957) and State (1967, 1984) Prizes. The honorary citizen of cities of Kazan, Kaluga, Leninsk (now Baikonur), Odessa, Primorsk, Khimky, Elista. There was the deputy of the Supreme Soviet of 5-11 convocations, member of Central Committee of C.P.S.U. (1976 - 1989). He was awarded with five orders of Lenin (1956, 1958, 1968, 1975, 1978), Labor Red Banner (1945), October Revolution (1971) and numerous medals, including Golden medal named after K.Tsiolkovsky of Academy of Science of USSR #2 (1958).

Vitaly Petrovich Radovsky (1920-2001)
- one of leading experts in the field of domestic liquid rocket engine development, corresponding member of Academy of Science of USSR (1987), Hero of Socialist Labour (1976), winner of the Lenin’ Prize (1960). He has graduated the Moscow aviation institute in 1943. Since 1961 – deputy chief designer, and since 1974 till 1991 - head and chief designer of DB ENERGOMASH. He is the author over 200 scientific works on problems of creation and improvement of propulsion systems of space-rocket complexes. He has brought the significant contribution to creation of series of rocket engines of defensive and space purpose. Under his management (as chief designer of the enterprise) world famous engines RD-120, RD-170, RD-171 are developed.

Boris Ivanovich Katorgin (born 1934)
In 1958 he has graduated the Moscow Higher Technical College named after N.E.Bauman. Academician of the Russian Academy of Science, professor, doctor of technical sciences. The author about 300 proceedings, from them 160 inventions. The winner of the premium of the Government of Russia, the State premium of the Russian Federation. In 1985-1990 – deputy chief designer of DB ENERGOMASH on special generators, in 1990-1991 – deputy chief designer of NPO ENERGOMASH on scientific work, in 1991-2005 - general director and general designer of NPO ENERGOMASH, since 2005 till 2008 general designer of OAO "NPO ENERGOMASH".
Pirogov Nikolay Anatolievich (10.06.1951)
was born in Khimky, Moscow area. He graduated at MVTU named after N.E.Bauman, engineer - mechanics (1974). Since 1974 till 1981 he worked at NPO Energomash: engineer - designer on development of continuous chemical lasers. Since 1981 till 1986 - chief designer of the project in State design institute of Minmontazhspetsstroy; since 1986 till the present time he works at NPO Energomash: chief of department, deputy general designer, director on strategic development (2000), director on international activities (2001), first deputy general director (2003), general director of JSC "NPO Energomash" (2005-2009). The winner of the premium of Government of Russian Federation (1997). The author of more 20 scientific-technical reports and papers, more than 50 certificates and patents on the inventions. He is awarded with a medal "In memory of 850th anniversary of Moscow" (1997), has the honorary sign of Federal Space Agency "For international cooperation in the field of an astronautics" (2004) and medal S.P.Korolev (2006), medal of FSTEK “For strengthening of state system of protection of the information” I degree (2006).

Pakhomov Dmitry Vyacheslavovich
He was born October 15, 1963 in Moscow. He graduated at MGIMO of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of USSR in 1989 on “Economist on international economic relations” speciality. He worked at NIITEI KhP and VTO “Soyuzplodimport” in 1983-91. Commercial director of JSC “ADS “Slaviya” in 1991-98. He works at NPO Energomash since 1998: head of administration of general director, deputy general director – director on strategic development and corporate management, first deputy general director. Since 2009 – general director of JSC “NPO Energomash named after academician V.Glushko”. “Best manager of year of Moscow region” in “Industry” nomination in 2002, winner of Russian competition “Manager of year” in “Industry” nomination in 2003. He decorated with “300 years of Russian navy” medal, K.Tsiolkovsky honorary sign and “Star of Ikar” and “75 years of Yu.Gagarin birthday” medals of Roscosmos, medals of academician V.Glushko and academician S.Korolev of Federation of cosmonautics of Russia.
